Welcome to the Walkabout Learning Model, the documentation of Walkabout, a highly successful experiential education school that the US Department of Education honored as one of the top 40 experiential education programs in the United States. For 37 years, Walkabout thrived as a public alternative for disengaged high school students from a wide range of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds. Through this work we seek to inspire the next generation of Walkabout.

The Walkabout Learning Model is dedicated to the Australian Aboriginal communities who inspired it.
